First, let's start with the basics.
Your posts should feature scroll-stopping images and videos, captions with alluring hooks, and clear messaging that tells what pain point you solve AND the benefit of your solution. (Insider tip: Instagram really likes carousels and short Reels right now, but always test to see what YOUR audience prefers.)
After you've done all those things, add in these 5 quick steps.
Use relevant keywords in your caption. Use at least 3 keywords in your caption that accurately reflect your content.
Use alt text. Using alt text tells the algorithm what's in your photo and helps you get discovered by people who want to see that photo. It also is read aloud by screen readers used by visually impaired users. You can find this feature under "Advanced Settings" on the last screen right before you press "Share."
Tag your location. A geotag allows platforms to organize posts and determine feeds for users. This feature is also on the last screen right before you press "Share."
Use the topics feature for Reels. Choose up to 3 that correctly identify your content. You can find this feature on the last screen right before you press "Share."
Add hashtags. After doing steps 1-4, if you still haven't told the algorithm enough about WHO your post is for, WHAT you offer, the PAIN POINT it solves, and its BENEFIT, add up to 9 hashtags.
