DOES YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE SHINY AND NEW?
No.
Relevant? YES. But sometimes what's worked in the past will work even better now.
Think about how many times you've seen the same shirt, book, or course in your feed before purchasing it. Probably quite a few.
(If you're like me, you've even added it to the cart and then gotten distracted.)
Previously used photos, captions, and videos can sometimes work BETTER than something fresh.
What sorcery is this, you say?
Here are two examples from one of my client's accounts.
~Original LinkedIn post with a photograph on December 4 received 201 impressions, 8 likes, and 7 clicks. Seven months later, we reposted it and received 644 impressions, 19 likes, and 31 clicks.
~Original LinkedIn post with a photograph on December 19 received 332 impressions, 17 likes, and 23 clicks. Seven months later, we reposted it and received 636 impressions, 24 likes, and 23 clicks.
REUSING CONTENT IS A GOOD TACTIC FOR US.
It reinforces our branding and gets more eyes on our content.
Think about how many times you've seen the same commercial or the same billboard. Yes, it's repetitive but the familiarity helps branding. (It's not redundant because it reinforces what you're selling.)
Also, your content doesn't reach the same people each time.
December's audience is not July's audience.
One more tip: Wait at least 4 months between posts.
Test it and let me know how it works.
