Instagram feels the heat as TikTok grabs more attention from users
And why this is very good news for you.
5 things you need to know now to maximize your Instagram profile
1. Photos and Reels Distribution Rebalanced
You no longer have to be a video-editing expert to get great reach! IG head Adam Mosseri announced that photos and Reels are now more equal in the Instagram algorithm and should have the same reach. As always, you'll need to test, test, and test again to see how your content fares with this algorithm change. But I've definitely noticed a shift in my clients' feeds—particularly when we use carousels.
2. Length limit of videos shared on Stories changes from 15 seconds to 1 minute I love this feature because now when I have an amazing Reel, I can repurpose it as a Story without the choppy 15-second cuts. 3. In-app scheduling is rolling out If you have a professional account, you may already be able to schedule a picture, carousel, or Reel up to 75 days in advance. Simply tap the three horizontal lines in the top right corner of your account to see if you have this feature.
4. Message option available in comments Now you can easily like, reply, send, and MESSAGE someone straight from the comment they make on your post. You know I'm all about always responding to comments, so I love that this gives us another way to do it! 5. Updated web version introduced This new interface allows a much more intuitive, user-friendly experience on large screens. Need some help navigating these changes? Let me know.
